Rate it!: The Man From the Alamo (1953)...

Ford plays one of the men at the Alamo who draws a black bean which means it's up to him to leave the fort to check on all their families. Because all the other men stayed behind to defend the fort to their deaths he's unjustly labelled a deserter and a coward.

Two things I was wondering were: Was the backdrop of the Alamo necessary (they could still do the deserter and coward some other way); why was Jory dressed-up like a gypsy when he's supposed to be pretending to be a Mexican?

Otherwise an enjoyable film (that's why the 7/10 rating), but nothing too special for a Western.
