Poignant film because of Claude Rains

It's rather melancholy to see the once virile and gorgeous Claude Rains much aged and stooped here. For a man who always seemed 15 years younger than he really was, age had caught up to the Claudester here. It's very poignant to see him finally look his age (and more). As always, he renders a wonderful performance in material grossly inferior to his talent. His scenes are worth watching, but no one elses are.

Hey, I'd still take him.

"Of course it's me, who were you expecting?"
