Finally!

I saw this movie on tv once when I was a teenager. I loved it, but began watching after it began, so I didn't know what it was called. For years I would ask people if they had ever seen a movie about a little boy who thinks he shot his brother, so runs away to Coney Island. No one seemed to have any idea what I was talking about. Then one day, through random luck, I happened to be reading an article on the French New Wave, and they mentioned "Little Fugitive" about a little boy who runs away to Coney Island as being influential. FINALLY! I had a name! One of the things that delighted me when I first watched it was seeing Coney Island the way my parents experienced it. Also, that despite the decades of difference, the deposit you could get for a bottle or can was the same (though, he was able to do a lot more with his nickels than I could do with mine.)
