Inappropriate STRIP SHOW!

I love when Zsa Zsa Gabor as the magician's assistant gets her clothes pulled off piece-by-piece.

With all the puppets in the movie, I suppose most people would deem this movie a "kid flick" - and certainly the movie deals with the notion of child innocence.

Nevertheless, Zsa Zsa presents what essentially is a STRIP TEASE!

"Don't call me 'honey', mac."
"Don't call me 'mac'... HONEY!"

It didn't bother me at all when I was a kid. And she's so beautiful how can you help but not appreciate it?

reply

Although I hope most modern eyes can catch the idealizing of the clever man overcoming the protesting woman. Gabor's character is backing away saying, "No, no, please!". And the audience applauds when he strips away the last pieces nonetheless.

I like to think that would be eliminated if it were made today.

She was saying "no" to him removing the last bit of it. And he didn't. It was just a cute little tease. Totally harmless. Plus she was playing.

One can say "the movie deals with the notion of child innocence." But since its young heroine nearly commits suicide and is twice pressed toward seduction (once willingly), no one should seriously consider LILI a story for children. (Unless as a cautionary tale for adolescents.)

My college roommate said this was his favorite film as a child and he would have been seven when it was released.

I suppose for the time, but absolutely harmless when compared to what goes on in movies today.
