Is this the one where the villainous looking one-eyed Sikh soldier turns out to be a good guy and ends up a sergeant?

If it is, I like this film. The one-eyed Sikh looked so villainous, I was always expecting him to betray his comrades, or just his captain. I was glad he survived and became the sergeant. I suppose the proper rank is havildar.
