The Accents

I am an American, but I have been to Israel and have lots of Israeli friends. Couldn't they have found a dialogue coach, even in those days that could coach the American actors on their Israeli accents? Ay-yay yay (to use a more California phrase). They are TERRIBLE and so distracting. The name "Joshua" for instance (my name), is pronounced more like "Yeh-ho-shoo-ah" not "yay-ho-shua." The term "ha-kol b'seder" which means, "everything is order" and is translated in the film as "ok," is pronounced ha-cole b'say-der with a rolling r, not the very very American way it sounds here. Things like that usually don't bother me that much, but it was so obvious here that it pulled me right out of the film, although all of the accents got a little bit better as it went on.
