What film??

I'm desperately trying to remember the title of a film I saw a few years ago. Pretty sure it was 50's (possibly in colour) where something lands in a farm yard just over a hill. You never see it and whenever someone goes over the hill to have a look they come back different and evil. Seem to rembmer they have a mark possibly on their neck which shows they are now evil/an alien. I think the farm boy was the main character convinced something is going on.
Reading the plot for It came from outer space I really thought it could be this but I'm watching now and its not it.
