Wow! Doc from Gunsmoke!!! Amazing huh - and also amazing that James Arness was in the sci fi thriller Them!!!

Yes, of course. And Richard Deacon (Mel Cooley from the Dick VanDyke Show) has his screen debut as one of the guards/officers at the plant when the General and Police Chief try to blow it up. And the recently departed Barbara Billingsley as Dr. Kelston's secretary who answers the phone. All mentioned on the full cast, I'm sure....

Hey thanks I'll look harder when I watch it again; some of the fun for me is NOT knowing who's in a movie and then realizing it's a now famous actor/actress! :)

James Arness also played 'The Thing' in "The Thing from another world" (1951).

Thanks - I almost forgot about that one! :) Some of the fun for me is not knowing who's in a movie and realizing hey...there's something familiar about that actor/actress! :)

He played in lots of movies back then - sans mustache.

I did. You must mean Milburn Stone (Capt. Ross), with no mustache, but he had one in the 1954 movie, "Black Tuesday", where he played the role of "Father Slocum, the priest.
