man who showed apt. to Shotze

Whose the actor in the beginning that showed Shotze the apartment. He looks and sounds familiar

reply

I AGREE! he sounded quite similar to Smee from Disney's "Peter Pan!"

That was Percy Helton: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percy_Helton

One of his better moments in film came two years after HTM a Millionaire. Playing a little dude roughed up by Ralph Meeker's Mike Hammer in Kiss Me Deadly.

reply

He is familiar because he did A LOT of Television but you might remember him as either as the train conductor in White Christmas("the train fair is still $32 and 28 cents) or the Drunk Santa at the beginning of the original Miracle on 34th street.

Oh GOOD!,my dog found the chainsaw

reply

His voice always reminds me of Winnie the Pooh for some reason.

I need my 1987 DG20 Casio electric guitar set to mandolin, yeah...

reply

I believe he's the voice of Piglet.

reply

He's not the voice of Pooh or Piglet. Pooh was voiced by actor Sterling Holloway. Piglet was voiced by actor John Fiedler.

reply

I stand corrected.

He's also in THE ROBE which was the film Fox used to introduce the CinemaScope process. He was the wine seller who jumps into the pool when Richard Burton throws his payment of coins into the pool.

One of his last roles was in "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid". He plays a minor character in the town called Sweet Face I think. They pay him to tell the posse that they rode out of town but at gunpoint he points to the hotel across the street.
