DVD?
When are they going to get around to putting this movie on DVD? Is there any way to find out? I'm surprised they haven't already.
shareWell, quite simply this movie has been locked away in the Wayne vault for a long time.
The film was released on VHS a long time ago and it can be found.
Hondo just resurfaced on Turner Classic Movies, check there schedule out for the next airing of this film.
I think the DVD will probably be available eventually, it's up to the Wayne Estate wether or not they want to release this film again. It's an amazement they released it on VHS.
This film is probably the most rarely seen John Wayne film out there, they used to say McClintock was rarely seen, Hondo beats it and is seen less.

If you can't wait till then, some of the 1993 DVD's are probably floating on Ebay, however I suspect this new release will be of pristine video and audio quality.
How do you know paramount will release more of these? is there somewhere I can look. I am an avid collector of john wayne movies. How do i find out which ones were released in 93?
The movie studios only began releasing DVDs in 1997, so I doubt you'll find John Wayne DVDs from 1993. I think they were making Laser Discs and VHS at that point in time.

Hondo is my fathers favorite movie and he has been wanting it on dvd for a long time I'd like to get it for him for fathers day. so if anyone has any Idea of where I could get it or pre-order it or even the new release date I would really appreciate it Thanx.

I just read on thedigitalbits.com that Paramount will be releasing Hondo and McLintock! on DVD on October 11th!
