Cut Scenes On DVD

I love Hondo, so I bought the Collectors Edition DVD, only to find out they cut a critical battle scene at the end! The one I'm talking about is when James Arness's character shoots the indian before he knifes Hondo! The scene where Hondo gives him the gun isn't cut, I don't understand why if it's supposed to be a "Collectors Edition" and they cut that original scene out! I'm not sure if there's any more cut, but that one I distinctly remember.
