Drags On...And On...And On...No Pun Intended

This movie started off in a very powerful way. It had a good message and some very insightful information. But Wood's obession with using stock footage really hurt this film. It was the longest 60 minute film I've ever seen. Between Bela Lugosi talking about the Green Dragon, and the war footage, and the buffalo footage, this film dragged on and on and on. If this film was cut in half I think it would have a different reputation.

Agreed. It's so padded out it's ridiculous. Was the story of that 2nd guy at the end really necassary? Just an excuse to include the WW2 stock footage methinks. Thank God for Bela.

Ed Wood was paid to make a movie about sex change operations, and produced a movie about crossdressers instead. Since this wasn't what the producer asked for, they tacked on the second story. They also added more to the dream sequence in order to stretch out the story.

Yes, I totally agree. I thought the same thing. I actually liked the 'sex change' story better.
