'If god wanted us to fly he would have given us wings'

The lady saying this, trying to sound like an old woman was ridiculous. The dialog in this movie has to be the funniest that I have ever heard. I can easily see why Ed was labeled the worst director of all times. I will agree that his movies are watch able and entertaining, but only because of how bad they are.

I viewed this as a serious film, without laughing, and still enjoyed it. Stop laughing at a man's honest work. It's offensive.

Stop BSing, man. You agreed w/ me that some parts are hilarous (the transvestite reading the paper, pull the strink, and so on).

It's impossible not to laugh at the technical goofs of this film, but yes, it's even MORE difficult to not take it seriously. I STILL laugh at the bearded transvestite reading the newspaper every time I see him there and I know that the narrator is just going to jab at me for laughing, and then feel kind of guilty about laughing at him. *lol*

Laugh at it because it's accidentally entertaining, but read into it for its tragic plea for acceptence.

I totally agree with that. I'm beginning to think that people are saying these things about his movies just to be hip and cool. After seeing Plan 9 and Glen or Glenda, I really like the way he expresses himself without fear. So honest and pure. Haven't seen that in a long time in a Holywood movie...

The way I remember the line, it's "Vat are leetle boys made uff? Bik fat snails? Puppy dok tails? Or maybe ... brassieres! High heels! Garters!

It's like those old timey high school class documentaries warning teens about drugs, sex and bad driving. They were always funny too.
