Henry Spofford III, and valet

While I'm still here, (and very bored working 4th July...) I was reading somewhere the actor who played this character is now around 60yrs old. (Isn't weird how time flies..) Anyway, he said his strongest memory of the film was how long the work day was. He'd work all day with Marilyn Monroe the famous actress, then after a very long day she'd come out of her trailer to go home and he didn't even recognize her without her make-up, etc. He said MM was sweet, all-around, but was shy and quiet, then became something else when the cameras turned on.

She apparently only wore the Marilyn makeup/persona when business/PR called for it, and liked her privacy and anonymity on her own time.

Henry Spofford III was my favorite character next to MM and JR.

What a funny/talented little kid he was!!

"This promises to be quite a trip..."
"I'm old enough to appreciate a good looking girl..."
"...can't you see his intentions aren't honourable?"

All his lines were so great =D

Wonder if he eventually married Lorelei's daughter?

reply

He was a good kid.

The actor George "Foghorn" Winslow passed away last year.

The only thing that could have made the dinner scene any better was if Henry Spofford (George 'Foghorn' Winslow) had looked longingly at Jane Russell's teats as he said the line "Personally, I don't intend to miss a meal."

reply

Hockeyhrs, you're simpleminded if you can't differentiate between a cow's teats and Jane Russell's magnificent breasts.

Bored now.
