New version?

I reckon that they could remake this film in the style of a modern British romcom. It has got a central love story and love rivalry and the prerequisite American character. Change the American from male to someone like Julia Roberts, alter the love interest story so that it takes place between the American and the cricketer in his final test (Colin Firth perhaps) and have the cricketer's son an aspiring rock musician rather than a poet, put Hugh Grant in there somewhere and hey presto!
What do people think?
It would be good to see which England cricketers were able to play themselves - KP as the captain perhaps - he could probably carry it off! Would modern day players be less wooden than their 1953 counterparts?
