Deborah Kerr's Character Was Not Likable!

Don't get me wrong, Cary Grant is portrayed as a huge chauvinist in this movie. But I get the impression that we are supposed to be rooting for Kerr. Why? She treats him like dirt! It's Cary Grant, for heaven's sake! When she comes to his home for dinner, she basically ignores every romantic gesture he makes and tells him they have to postpone the wedding as if it's no big deal.

Then when the princess gets there, Kerr has this constant look of condescending amusement on her face the rest of the movie. If she truly loved Grant's character, you'd think she's be a bit jealous but she never shows any emotion really.

I like Kerr and Grant but this was a terrible movie. The one positive was Kerr's wardrobe, which was fabulous! They really knew how to dress in those days. Her work dresses as well as her cocktail dresses were standouts, every one.
