I'm a doctor, not a ...

In this movie Dr. Schratt (sp?) says "I'm a doctor, not an electrician." Is this the first dialog of this type in the movies or TV? Did Gene Roddenberry of Star Trek fame see this movie and borrow the line for the character of Dr. McCoy?

The Philo Vance books and movies have this beat by twenty years.

Read The Dragon Murder Case for an example. The chief medical officer, Dr. Doremus, is brought out to a house to look at a body, which has disappared. He gets in a few, "I'm a doctor, not a body hunter" type cracks in it.

And the same thing was carried over in the film adaptions, starring Warren Williams.

I received the impression that this "I'm a doctor, not a ...." has had a long history!
