The scene where he's knocked down by a truck

I didn't understand the scene where he gets out of the car and is knocked down and almost killed by a truck. What was going on there? Was the brain trying to make Lew Ayres commit suicide or what?

Probably. I recently saw this old classic. Remember watching it as a kid way, way back to 1961. And remember how scared I was!! HA HA Just recently got it from Netflix, and quite interesting and not bad for a campy "B movie". Kind of like Nancy Davis [yep, Nancy Reagan, Bonzo's pal Ronald Reagan's wife and future first lady]. Funny, because I HATE Reagan as president. But she wasn't that bad actress as we can see. Funny also: Ayn Rand would have loved this rich guy Donovan whom the doctor got his brain! Kind of like how Donovan got rid of the pesky newspaper guy. He was obnoxious.

The brain wasn't trying to make him commit suicide, it needed him. In a later scene he says "It was like I was trying to kill myself", to free himself from the brain.
