Huge Error in the Film
The goal of the group is stated multiple times to be Okinawa.
However, since Okinawa was Japanese territory at the time, this would have been a death sentence for the Americans.
Bad films are a crime against humanity.
The destination of Okinawa was correct. They left the U.S. in November 1944. By the time they need too leave the Gobi Okinawa was being taken if not secured by the Allies and they get there just days before the Japanese surrender. So no error.
