What does Tammy stand for?

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but, what is Tammy a nickname for?

reply

MacRoberts is meant to be Scottish. "Tam" is frequently used by Scots instead of "Tom", so it's presumably "Tommy". Hope that helps

You can see more of MacRoberts' adventures in the seldom-seen sequel "Tammy Tell Me True."

Scotland & Ireland are closely tied: "Scotch-Irish" and all that.
In Ireland, a very popular hat is called a "Tam O'Shanter": don't ask me why! lol
So, maybe, "Tammy" is a kinda/sorta roundabout nickname for a Scottish person, I don't know ....
Those Celtic folk & thier weird ways mix me up somethin' awful.

B .... I .... L-L-T .... E-T-L-E-YYYYYYY Bill Tetley!

Burton didn't try all that hard to do a Scottish accent
