Similar movie set in the U.S.A.?


I am trying to recall the title of a movie very similar to Captain's Paradise, but set in the United States. A man with a wife and family in each of two U.S. cities, and he is found out at the end when all is seemingly forgiven. For some reason, I'm thinking that Jimmy

Can anybody remind me of the title of this movie? It was probably made generally in the 1950s or so, likely after Captain's Paradise considering the taboo nature of the subject matter at the time.

Try "The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker," a Clifton Webb vehicle made in 1959.

There was also Blake Edwards's Micki and Maude, in which Dudley Moore was married to both Amy Irving and Ann Reinking.

The Bigamist had a similar theme, but played it straight (and depressing). But The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker was a comedy, like the The Captain's Paradise.

There was also the 1973 made for TV movie "Coffee, Tea or Me" starring Karen Valentine as an airline stewardess who has two husbands - one in Los Angeles and the other in London.
