Question Please *** Spoiler Alert***

"When St James discovers Nita's infidelity, he leaves the flat as she continues the argument with her lover, Absalom. Nita shoots and kills her lover."

Absalom was having a romantic fling throughout the movie. We were never shown who it was with. Was it with Nita the entire time? If so, she was doing the same thing as The Good Captain, really. Or do you think Absalom cut off the relationship with his original girlfriend - even though he cultivated it the entire film - just to be with Nita when she decided to dump the Captain????

Why do you think that Absalom had a particular girlfriend all along? The first time that we see Absalom he talks about saving and not being a cab driver his entire life. The next time that we see him is the beach scene. I don't remember that he says anything, but he certainly hears that Nita is not happy with not being allowed to be domestic. It is certainly possible that gave him an idea. The next time that we see him is toward the end of the film, and his little house is almost his and his little wife is almost his, but he does not want all of the little wife until he has all of the house. He is surely referring to Nita then. I don't doubt that Absalom was trying to have sex all along, but I don't understand where you get the idea that he was involved with one woman or that it could be Nita. He does not have much to offer Nita until he has his house, and that is only at the end.If I have forgotten a time that we see Absalom, please refresh my memory.
