is to dramatize the loyalty of the Indian race to the white race and its "civilizing mission." If Pocahontas didn't stay behind to keep the peace and marry another white man, there would be no reason to tell her story.

Other films like this include THE FAR HORIZONS, THE INDIAN SQUAW'S SACRIFICE, THE KENTUCKIAN AND THE SQUAW MAN.

Actually if you look into her true story would realize that she was an important interrupter for her people and was very diplomatically smart. I would suggest actually reading into her story before judging her. One of the better books about her life is Pocahontas and the Powhatan Dilemma.
