marriage?

After both "On Moonlight Bay" and "By the Light of the Silvery Moon", I wonder if Marjorie and William ever got married?

reply

I'd really like to think so. I'd love to have seen a third movie kind of like what they did with Father of The Bride and Father's Little Dividend.

I think if someone could do a sequel, they could use Doris Day as Marjorie looking back on the intervening years - I'm not sure who I'd cast for the young couple, however.

Wouldn't that be great? Especially if they could re-create the Winfield house. And of course Billy Gray could play Wesley Winfield! I'd really love to see Doris Day in something again. I'm not sure who the young couple could be, I'm not really up on the young actors/actresses of today. I supposed I could see Reese Witherspoon as a young Marjorie.

I wonder if it was ever intended to have a third film. The tile could've been Shine On Harvest Moon!

Still, I can't help feeling a little bit bad for Chester/Hubert at the endings. (The rest of the family even leaves the ice rink without him.) He might not have been a good match for Marjorie, but he still seemed like a good guy who regarded her highly. That Bumblebee song was catchy.
