Did anyone else think it was [spoiler]

Cam who poisoned the girl? I thought he might be turning into an unreliable narrator at one point.

reply

I never thought it was Cam. I suspected Lynne from the beginning. She was just too perfect to be true.

When they threw the case out for moment I thought it was him. That would have been the twist in the case had it turned out that way.

Impossible to be Cam, because he didn't have access to the girl when the poison was administered, much less when she first got taken ill.

For a while, I thought it might be the boy because he wanted more attention and wanted his Uncle around more.

Yes, in the second part of the movie I wondered for quite a while if the murderer was Cam. Maybe that is because many people have him in mind as the nice, friendly and ever dependable Uncle Charlie who turned out to be a complete psychopath.

Also, though Cam was the narrator who told the audience many times how he believes his sister-in-law to be a murderess who he likes to expose, this could be a red herring or a blatant trick the director played on the audience, much like Hitchcock did in Stage Fright.

Jean Peters also had me fooled in the end when she would absolutely not admit to the killings. I thought only someone who is innocent could play it so cool. All in all a great performance.

I also thought towards the end it was Cam. It was not clear at the time why he bought the poison, and Jean Peters' character did not flinch when he told her he put the "W" pill in her drink. She seemed to have an answer for everything leveled against her, and she was not acting like a woman who has just been poisoned!
