Edmund Gwenn's house

The bus driver in the sightseeing bus pointed out Edmund Gwenn's house. He was an actor in the movie!! I would guess Ida Lupino wanted to put a little in joke in the movie. It is always fun to see the classics had a good sense of humor too!

According to Wikipedia (and other sources), the homes of Gwenn, Jimmy Stewart, and Jack Benny really were their homes.

Why the inclusion of the gossip columnist? Was it to praise her or bury her? And was that really her home too?

I caught that too, fhh68. Very clever, and I appreciated them showing the real homes of the stars. This is another fabulous movie directed by a woman – Ida Lupino. This is the month where TCM is showcasing women directors. They truly have a difference touch.

In another scene I think it was Joan Fontaine who describes Edmond Gwenn (who played Santa Claus in "Miracle on 34th St.") as looking like Santa Claus.

Every time I heard Gwenns voice I expected to see giant ants enter the scene.
