ASTOUNDING Fantasy Dance Choreography

This is really just a shout out about the extraordinary choreography and creativity of what for me was the centerpiece of the film. Down in the lowest dungeon, Dr. T. keeps all the dastardly players of "screechy violins, squeeky piccolos," etc. The wonderful orchestral choreographed number is equal to anything ever put onscreen by Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire. It's funny, unexpected, dreamlike... There are even shades of Blue Man Group and Circque du Soleil.

Along with the terrific costuming and the fabulous, scary, German expressionist set design, I'd add this film to my collection simply for that single "starless" dance set piece.

Agreed. This was like "Busby Berkley for Kids... in Color!"
