It appears Denning, Ireland and the Commander all die while trying to drop the bomo off onto a small island. They are pushing it out the plane and stock footage of a A-Bomb is cut in. Movie over. What happened?
I guess it could be an ambiguous ending, although that seems a bit ambitious for this type of movie. I assumed that they got it out of the plane, and it detonated on a timer over Frenchman's Flat. That raises the question of what would have happened if a bomb had gone off without warning, even over the testing ground. Seems like there might have been a few casualties and a lot of public questions, but perhaps that's applying too much logic to a B movie thriller.
