Meaning of the title?

The original spanish title is "Él" which means "He" or "Him" in english. Of course "He" is Francisco Galván de Montemayor, the character played by Arturo de Córdova. So the title refers to him, it's the story of his life. "La vida de Él".

The english title, well I have no idea, surely it was changed in order to make it more appealing and commecial for english-speaking audiences.
