Watching this now

This seems like a cute movie. Why aren't there more posts?

It's just a little-known movie, but it's really a great one. Pretty racy
subject matter at the time...David Wayne laughing as he holds his illegitmate
child, for instance.

"Could be worse."
"Howwww?"
"Could be raining."

I agree. Watching this now I look forward to the sequence between Eve Arden and Paul Douglas. I had seen it as a kid on TV. Anyway, the song is great that is playing on the radio in Spanish. I found out years later in the early 70's when I was still in my early 20's (from an older co-worker who was whistling it one day in the office) that the song is called Perfidia. I had heard it in the background of several older films and even in Dr's offices at tines.

I saw this for the first time on the Movies channel. It may have been slightly cut, but I was favorably impressed.

The makers deserved credit for trying something off the beaten path. I agree that by 1952 standards it was somewhat daring at times.

There is a very good ensemble of performers. The pacing seems good (I watched it with commercials) and it doesn't overstay its welcome. I understand that a sixth segment with Walter Brennan was deleted before release.
