Superb film
Just got this film (part of a 3 dvd set) and have to agree with all the other glowing reviews, a really wonderful film. Eddie Byrne give's a great performance as the lovable Irish rascal who outflanks all the council's efforts to keep him in line and with the great Sid James in supporting role the whole thing is a lovely watch.
I dont know if anybody else noticed this film has a strange surreal feel about it , it's like stepping back in time to a far earlier time then even the 1952 setting , maybe's it's the lack of car's on the street's . If you love classic Ealing film's you will enjoy this one !
