Stupidest gangsters ever?
(Spoilers below)
I had to laugh at how inept these gangsters were. Okay, it was sheer bad luck that led to them being pulled over by the cop in the first place. But man---once they shot him and pushed his motorcycle over an embankment, what did they do? The kept the body in the trailer---WHICH WAS REGISTERED IN THEIR NAMES---and then abandoned the trailer so that anyone could find it---and the missing cop inside.
Sheesh---they were in a rural, heavily wooded area, and no one saw the shooting or the subsequent disposal of the motorcycle. Why on earth didn't they just drive on a bit, to a spot where there were few passing cars, and then dump the body in the woods. Then---wipe down the gun, and throw it in a river. No one would ever have known that they were the killers! This would have made a heck of a lot more sense. But then---if the cops weren't on to them, there wouldn't have been any picture, I suppose.
Overall, I enjoyed this film. Just a programmer, but decent enough and it was good to see Joan play softer than her usual persona at this time period. Most of her 1950's films featured her as a tough, hard-as-nails character---but this time around she showed a little more vulnerability.
