The opening credits looked great.

I accidentally came across this film one afternoon and the opening credits made it look like a pretty good movie. I watched it for about 20 minutes waiting for something- anything- to happen. I finally gave up and read a book.

So, to sum it up in legal terminology: Get lost, you bum.

I watched it all and it was strange.

"Bud" (that's Billy Gray's name in this, too) is an extremely annoying kid who should have been given a good spanking.

The end is pretty sappy.

But I've wasted more time on longer, worse movies.

For some reason, another Billy Gray movie was on the same day- about a kid and his cartoonist father. I thought he was a pretty good child actor in both movies.
I didn't get the "Stranger" movie at all. They break the guy's window for nothing.
Some kid tries to steal his bike. A bunch of other kids hassle Bud and his dog for no reason. And then he tries to sell a newspaper subscription to a guy who made it clear he doesn't want to be bothered. The movie didn't seem to make any sense.

So, to sum it up in legal terminology: Get lost, you bum.

it was like life -- all screwed up and stupid like Kierkegard and Sansho the Bailiff. What?

Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.

Oh well, that's your choice and, I think, your loss. I suppose you only read the first two chapters of that book and stopped there too. How silly; most of the best movies I've ever seen need an investment of more than twenty minutes before I realized how good they are. This movie wasn't even very long. I'm sure the book took longer.

Anyway, it is a short little movie but I thought it was worth watching; especially if you watch it with a child and then discuss the various themes presented in the movie with them. Even watching it alone as an adult I found it interesting and worth the time.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]

As far as the visuals go, everything about it looked great. Outstanding cinematography.
