Different Film?

When I looked up this film, I was puzzled. I saw a film from back in the 40s or 50s in which Paul Henried tried to switch identities with a man he resembled and had murdered. The victim had a scar on his face and was also played by Paul Henried. He carved a scar into his cheek, not realizing that the picture he was working from had been developed backwards, and that the scar was put on the wrong side. I thought the name was Stolen Face, but this doesnt match the plot description. Can anyone help? I think there was a major flaw in the one I described because as he was carving his cheek he was looking in a mirror, so with an incorrect photo, the scar would have wound up on the correct side.

The film you're thinking of is: Hollow Triumph (The Scar in GB) with Henreid and Joan Bennett, made in 1948.
