If it was in one dollar bills. The suitcase must have been full of twenties. But a twenty dollar bill back then was not common. Remember that in 1952, gas was probably 19 cents a gallon.
shareOf course $20 bills were common! $50 and $100 bills were in circulation too. And banks would certainly have them, even if the average working stiff didn't pack them around. $500 and $1,000 bills were only pulled from circulation in 1969.
