Arthur Franz is one of my favorite actors. To me, he came accross as a kind and intellectual person. Perhaps this is due to the fact that, in real life, Arthur Franz was a WWII POW who later escaped. I remember him the most as the astronomer in "Invaders from Mars."

Was really disappointed that I saw so little of this film, but will look for him again. At first I didn't get a ggod look and thought he was Glenn Ford.

I remember Franz most as the lead in Atomic Submarine and as the Admissions Board officer who interviews Bob Denver in The Long Sweet Ride.

lol, that guy needed lots of hugs.

Great performance, loved it when he'd just snap.

Everywhere he looked there was dames with their fellas.. Or some woman getting the sympathy that HE should have been getting. When he's playing the shooting game at the midway and suddenly tries to yank the gun around off it's chain to sight in on a couple making out on a ride... Woah.. Dude was gone.

The scene when he's throwing the balls at the dunk tank lady happens after that, her reaction was perfect as he gets more and more savage.

I saw this when it came out in 1952. I was fourteen years old. Just saw that it is in TCM tonight and am recording it. It was so powerful and Arthur Franz's performance just blew me away. Glad to see the film is appreciated on this message board.
