THe Horrible Irony

In this film, the awful irony is that had the United States heeded the words of the psychologist in the film that we should treat our mental patients at the start, instead of giving them light jail sentences and ceaseless free access to firearms, imagine how many hundreds of thousands of Americans wouldn't have died in the interim at the hands of the mentally ill using easily obtained guns.

This film was made in 1952. We're still allowing the mentally ill to wreak havoc with guns in 2014. Clearly, the USA is a country that doesn't learn.
