Seafarers now on DVD!

The Seafarers is out on DVD. I ordered it on Amazon. Digitally remastered. Look really good. There's a few scratches from the master print right at the start, but those go away after a second.

The audio commentary from Pulp Fiction writer Roger Avary and Keith Gordon (Dexter, Waking The Dead) is very amusing, they're obviously big fans of Stanley Kubrick.

You have to remember, this is a documentary film made on the behalf of the Seafarers Union. Keep that in mind, it is designed to enhance the profile of The Seafarers Union, not promote some theory of the director.

You will see some very well organized scenes that you may decide are consistent with the Kubrick style.

There's also a text interview with Kubrick's daughter, Vivian, which is great! Don't know how they got that one, but good job - love all the good questions!

*Workhorse-organized, sure. But there is nothing even remotely resembling Kubrick's style in this film. It's a complete snoozer.
