Should have been filmed in late 30s sticking to original plot-Errol Flynn as Andre, Basil Rathbone as the Marquis, Olivia de Havilland as Aline, Ann Sheridan as Climene. I rather enjoyed the climactic scene when the Marquis put his not unreasonable case.

Disagree. I loved the technicolor and Granger is a better swordsman than Flynn, also love his cocktail character. That's Granger's Forte.
