Kindness
I think the kindness found in this film is one of the reasons people really like it. People actually being kind to each other, even when they don't always agree. Such unselfishness is less seen today and that's a pity.

Your use of "laissez-faire" is incorrect. It means "a policy or attitude of letting things take their own course, without interfering."
shareI disagree: it's proper and fitting usage. The kindness, selflessness and altruism beautifully exhibited by every member of this family is the opposite of the up-by-your-own-bootstaps, hand's-off philosophy social/political laissez-faire espouses. It shows what love and generosity can do to change lives.
