Very sad news. Just saw the The Quiet Man again today noting how she was the only cast member likely to be still alive.

It's that man again!!

Of the principal cast I believe she was the last, although John Wayne's daughters Toni and Melinda (seen at the horse race) are still with us.

We watched The Quiet Man tonight in memory of Maureen O'Hara. I looked up Toni and Melinda Wayne and regret to inform doug65oh, that Toni actually died in 2000. I was a fan of Maureen O'Hara.may she R.I.P.

You know, you're right. I think I just got the names crossed. It's Melinda who survives. Although she didn't get screen credit, apparently Melinda was the girl in the wagon at the race - the younger one.

Sads news and wierd as just watched it earlier.

I'm ending up three weeks of showing Maureen O'Hara movies to my movie group with The Quiet Man tomorrow night. I started on Christmas Eve with Miracle On 34th Street, then The Black Swan on New Year's Eve and then Jamaica Inn, Hunchback of Notre Dame and Sitting Pretty. I surely will miss her.

Sad. She was one of the best stars ever in Hollywood.

What a beautiful woman and great actress too.

I fell in love with Maureen O'Hara in the very first scene. She looked stunningly beautiful in every scene she was in. How polar opposite emotions come and go as lightning bolts on her face and how she quickly changes the body language too, as Mary, are signs of such a skilled and wonderfully talented actor.

May she rest in peace. Thank you for allowing us to watch your beauty, I must add. I want to watch TQM again, only so I could go through her charm and handful such wonderful acting performances in the film, including The Duke himself

Must be some kind of curse on this film. Just about everybody in this 65 year old film is dead..
