Did producers tell LLOYD BRIDGES he'd be walking around without a shirt?


Seems he might have wanted to spend some more time at the gym.

Bridges was always pretty fit and athletic and for a long time looked younger than his years -- he was 39 here -- so I don't really see the problem with how he looked.

The real problem was that in early 17th-century England no one, even sailors, would have gone about half dressed like that, certainly not in port. His persistent shirtlessness is a movie affectation and historically absurd.
