Mr. Jingle
The character of Mr. Jingle as played by Nigel Patrick is one of the funniest in the history fo movies - one of my all-time favorite performances. The sly looks and the rapid-fire dialogue are simply priceless.

shareAgree, but what makes the character and the performance great (SPOILERS AHEAD) was when he meets Pickwick in prison, and the later scene when the Pickwickians forgive him and help him start a new life. Jingle still maintains his odd patterns of speech, but not as rapid-fire, and virtually in tears. "Words--fail . . . " Those scenes always get me verklempt.
