I have this one and the new one: Aurore (2005)
This would be a great movie is you were in the year 1952 but I love it! The new one is great, too! I would mostly recommend the new one! the new one is a emotional Drama that is absolutely FANTASTIC!

The one from 2005 is quite different.....I was expecting it to be, as the first one was made so long ago, but I didn't expect the story to be so different.... especially the scenes and circumstances under which Marie-Anne cuts Aurore's hair, and the fact that in the second one, the brother does not help her.
sharemy mother remembers seeing the original film in the cinema. but she was born in 1952 so she must have seen a re-release. she saw it with a bunch of other kids and she remembers this movie made everyone stand up and shout at the screen. it must have been a very effective film. is this movie on dvd? i'm dying to see it.
