is there a theater print of this film in America?

I was told that director Martin Scorsese owns the one print of this film in America, and that the first reel is in very bad condition, needs restoration. But a local small liberal arts college, Bard, in Barrytown, NY, announced they are showing the film July 26 as part of a series on British postwar classic fims.

Are there multiple copies (not 16mm but "theater" kind of prints) available? Do you think the college is getting their print from overseas? Is the Scorese copy being restored in time to be shown at this NY college at the end of July?
