I enjoy all the segments of O'Henry's Full House but have a real affection for The Last Leaf.The final scene with Jean Peters dialogue always leaves me with a lump in my throat.
shareI know! I remember watching that segment when I was very young & it always stayed with me. I finally caught the movie again the other night on TCM and was so happy I got to see it again! Truly wonderful directing also!
shareI just watched The Last Leaf now, and I'm about to start on Gifts of the Magi.
Both stories always leave me a bit teary-eyed, especially The Last Leaf. Very unexpected and bittersweet ending!

I agree wholeheartedly, it's a wonderful film. I only wish more people knew about it. I especially love getting to see and hear John Steinbeck as the narrator. All of the segments are worthwhile, and I find myself watching The Gift of the Magi every Christmas.
