It wasn't that bad. Neither was Mission to Moscow.

Come on. The pace is a little slow but you're taking this movie way to serious. Like Mission to Moscow it had an agenda. Misson to Moscow had to justfy saving the Soviet Union from the Nazis. This movie had a similar motive. It needed to justify to the publice why we saved a nation that wanted to destroy us. Politics change quickly.

I don't agree. Mission to Moscow, for all its lies, historical distortions and false characterizations, was extremely well-made, fast-paced and entertaining, in spite of its shameless and reprehensible propaganda and dishonest exculpation of Stalin's murderous regime. My Son John, by contrast, was a slow, insipid, poorly written and badly acted movie that reflected the simplistic and ignorant ravings of a once-talented director who had gone off the deep end, obsessed with his McCarthyite politics of division and hate, all smothered by his personal brand of holier-than-thou Catholicism.

It's on Netflix now. Love van Heflin. I guess these were the times. Dean jagger always give a great performance, he reminds me of Karl Malden.
