Ginger Rogers in that apron....

She looks extremely sexy adorned just in that apron!

I just saw the movie. The print must have been stolen from some old TV station that used to chop up movies to fit into a 90 minute time slot with 20 minutes of commercials. Most of the other postings here of "favorite moments" relate to scenes that were cut. I was surprised to see Ginger in the kitchen seemingly unaware that her back was exposed. What was that all about?

Ginger and Cary were supposed to go to some fancy dinner, or something. She was wearing a formal outfit/dress with a long separate skirt. When they decide to stay home, she took off the skirt for comfort and practicality. (They were supposed to be a forty-something childless couple, so, who cared.) She put on an apron to cook, leaving her lower, rear extremities exposed. (Big deal, granny panties and stockings.) Busy body colleague Hugh Marlowe shows up, and during dopey conversation, Cary tries to get Gin to cover up. Through humorous manipulations, she does. Poor Hugh never gets to see the 'goodies'.

I agree...

Ginger was always a beautiful woman, no matter what clothes she wears... and was a great person too...

However, since she is always first known of her films with Fred Astaire, we are used to thinking of her wearing ball gowns, fancy hairdos, and wearing expensive jewelry...

"...Movie Stars of that era don't wear jeans and aprons!..."

It's really great to see her wear something more down to earth, and stuff that most of us would only wear at home.

You should see her in "Forever Female", where her character wears typical household clothes while creating pottery. And her hair isn't so "perfect". Plus she has clay all over her.

I think she looks fantastic that way too...
