Ensemble Cast of Brits

Miss Robin Hood contains an ensemble cast of British performers headed by Margaret Rutherford as the whimsical Heather Honey. These include James Robertson Justice, Dora Bryan, Kenneth Connor, Sidney James, Michael Medwin, Ian Carmichael, Peter Jones & Reg Varney. Sid James is a gruff cabbie who occupies his time between fares (he seems to exclusively drive for Miss Honey) earnestly beavering away at his knitting! The film revolves around a journeyman journalist who writes a popular comic strip for "The Teenager" magazine in which a modern-day female Robin Hood robs banks with the assistance of adventurous schoolgirls to redistribute wealth to the 'Commonwealth'. The film seems to have been pretty much universally panned by critics in its day but is really quite a fetching little comedy, holding its own with the later St Trinian's movies which owe it more than a nod of recognition.
