Monkey Business, anyone?

Any thoughts on the similarities to the Howard Hawks film “Monkey Business”, which came out in 1952? In that, an absent-minded research chemist devoted to his work stumbles upon a formula which will revolutionise human life – an elixir of youth. His employers see only the financial implications, not the ethical.

The satire of the later film is lighter and the comedy stronger. Playing boffin and boss, Alec Guinness and Cecil Parker hold their own against Cary Grant and Charles Coburn but the two American girls – Ginger Rogers as wife and Marilyn Monroe as secretary – outshine the British pair
